Kieran Donovan has always been a doormat to the women in his life. Begging his wife not to leave after finding her in bed with not one—but five men—only provides further proof of that.

In need of an escape from an empty house and a broken heart, Kieran heads to Midtown to see his estranged brother, Liam. There he meets Shayne Wickham, Liam’s best friend. Shayne’s dark and sexy with a wild streak a mile long and a sexual appetite for things Kieran’s never even dreamed of doing. But after an intense, and all too brief encounter, he’s more than willing to learn. Despite the usual safeguards Shayne keeps around herself and her own wounded heart, she finds herself more than willing to show him the ropes…and the floggers…and the paddles.

Kieran’s never seen himself as dominant in any aspect of his life. But when Shayne submits herself to him, it ignites an inner strength and hunger he never knew he had—and feelings Shayne didn’t know she could have. So used to keeping others at an arm’s length, the ease with which she finds herself trusting Kieran is both exciting and unsettling. Could Kieran be someone she could finally trust her heart to—or will he leave her scarred like everyone else?

Just another mark on her skin.

GHBT- 'The House on Sunset' by Lindsay Fischer Release Day Blitz

The House on Sunset
By-  Lindsay Fischer
Genre- Memoir/Women’s Fiction

Lindsay Fischer was once a high school English teacher with dreams stretching far outside the classroom. When her boyfriend of a year-and-a-half cheated on her, Lindsay found herself alone, looking online for a replacement. His name was Mike.

That’s where the nightmare started.

The House on Sunset is a memoir, a collection of reminiscences, scattering the ashes of two broken homes and putting them to rest. Each chapter offers a different glimpse inside the cycle of intimate partner violence, where honeymoon phases and traumas coexist.

Everyone could fall victim to abusers. This book bravely displays the reasons a quirky, twenty-something teacher would, and did.

They heard the song—a duet—before they saw the singers. A siren’s ethereal face peered over the cliff’s ledge; her enormous wings—they looked like they belonged to an oversized butterfly—beat a slow, steady rhythm, suspending her in midair. Two arms wrapped around her neck. Her singing partner—a glamorous nixie—peeked from behind the siren’s neck through a tumble of golden hair.

Tatou stepped back.

Melia froze. Sirens lured mortals to a watery death, but a powerful one could seduce a creature from the enchanted world too. Her hand dropped to her was.

“We were coming to dive.” The siren sounded like a swan and her perfume—the scent a thunderstorm left in its wake—carried Melia all the way back to her childhood in the mortal world. “We couldn’t help but hear your call.”

Melia and Tatou backed up one step at a time.

“It’s the black eagle,” the nixie said in the common tongue.

Melia clamped her beak against the creature’s pungent scent.

A row of small pointed teeth contrasted with the nixie’s pouty mouth. Nixies—distant kin to Illialei’s mermaids—were the water faeries native to Tyrannis. They were smaller than mermaids, although not as small as pixies, more like the size of a short field faerie. They were reputed to be wicked.

“You know me?” Melia asked.

The nixie showed even more of her teeth.

Melia flinched before she realized the water faerie was smiling.

“Everyone knows Pressina’s girls.”

Blog Tour! Daughter of Light Trilogy by Heidi Garrett

Title- Half Faerie
Series- Daughter of Light Trilogy # 1
By- Heidi Garrett
Genre- YA Fantasy/Faerie Tales

Blurb-
She doesn’t believe in love, and she doesn’t believe in herself.

The crucible of her parents’ dark ambitions will forge her destiny.

Her consciousness will be transformed.

The journey will be epic.

Melia is an eighteen-year-old half faerie, half-mortal who longs to fly like the full-blood faeries. She also yearns for a life that's truly her own, which might prove more difficult than sprouting wings. Her faerie mother practices black magic, and her mortal father plots to bring war to the enchanted world. No matter how she tries to escape their long shadow, Melia is unable to distance herself from her parents’ obsessions.

After the half-faerie is accused of being her father's spy, her friend advises a trip to the Illustrator. The mysterious woman marks Melia's forehead with a strange emblem. She claims it will draw a young priest from distant lands who will come to the half-faerie's aid. Spooked rather than comforted, Melia dismisses the woman's words. Rather, she travels to the mortal world to confront her father.

Whimsical and edgy, Daughter of Light is a spinoff of the 14th century French fairy tale “Melusine.” A high fantasy with fairy tale elements and an intriguing cosmology, it's a great choice for readers who have loved Lord of the Rings.

“We’re going to be late,” Plantine yelled from the long hallway that ran between the sisters’ rooms and dead-ended at their mother’s.

“I’m not going to school today,” Melia croaked.

Plantine peeked into her sister’s bedroom. “I knew it.”

Melia clutched her abdomen, conjuring up the appearance of as much distress as she could.
Her younger sister advanced with her arms behind her back. “Every dark moon phase an ailment strikes you. What is it this time? A sour stomach?”

Sometimes, Plantine knew her too well. “Too much raw dandelion weed, perhaps?” Melia forced her voice to quaver.

Her sister edged closer to the bed. When she was within arm’s length, she produced the cup hidden behind her back. “I brewed this for you.”

Melia jerked up. “When did you make it?”

Plantine handed her the cup. “It’s been absorbing the waning moonlight on my windowsill for several nights.”

The pale, milky liquid smelled delicious. “What is it?”

“The dust of flower petals, a bit of a crushed magnolia cone—one that fell inside the walls of the enchanted gardens, condensed water from that contraption in the kitchen, and an incantation I created on my own.”

“Following in Mother’s footsteps, are we?”

Plantine frowned. “It’s no black magic.”

“So you say.”

Melia and her sisters, love, dislike and their mom self- involved with her own goings on. We find out a lot of their story and just how their father wants to reincarnate Umbra. The story moves on including Ryder, Tuck, Flora and a whole cast of incredible people and/ or faeries. I really don’t want to say too much but it is a truly incredible journey with so much happening you are quite glued to the pages of the book.
Again Heidi Garrett wraps her fantasy world around you, putting you under its spell, you don’t want it to stop…ever. I found myself sharing emotions with several characters and my husband would walk by just shaking his head, he doesn’t understand books and what they can do. I highly recommend this book. I want to thank Heidi Garrett for making my otherwise boring life so exciting with her books, I am loving it, every single minute! Five stars for Half Faerie.
