Sixteen-year-old Claire McBride just witnessed a brutal murder at the hands of someone she knew, someone she thought she could trust. Now she’s alone, afraid and desperate to put as many miles as possible between herself and the killer. Seeing no other options, she flees her home town of Galena, leaving behind everything and everyone she’s ever held dear.
Run for your life…
Carter Emerson's whole world has come crashing down around him. He woke to the news his best friend, Claire has gone missing without a trace, and there’s nothing he can do about it. Finding out her car was abandoned in the busy city of Chicago, he and his brother can't help but fear the worst… With no solid suspects or leads, it looks like Carter’s worst nightmare could come true, and Claire’s disappearance may turn into a cold case.
Run for your life…
With the killer at her heels, Claire has no choice but to leave Carter in the dark. She can’t risk his safety just because she misses the sound of his voice… But will the run of Claire’s life be worth it in the end? Or will her past catch up with her no matter how hard she tries to escape it?

Author Spotlight
We always want to know more about the authors we love so it thrills me to present this information straight from the authors themselves!
Please tell us
about yourself using 3 verbs, 1 quirk and a pop culture addiction
Allana- loving on my dogs, plotting fictitious murders, writing.
I pretend I'm talking to a live audience when I cook, and as for a cult
addiction... That would be a tie between Hannibal and The Walking Dead... I
spend most of my time reading/watching/etc. in those fandoms.
Melissa- reading,
writing/plotting, baking I watch my favorite movies over and over until I can
recite them in full.. and I’m hopelessly addicted to Arrow and I really don’t
see how it’s a bad thing.
Top 3 Pet Peeves
Allana- Rude/disrespectful people...when things are not in
alphabetical/numeric/color-coded/etc. order....narrow minded peasants...
Melissa-
liars/users/cheaters, people who interrupt you endlessly when you’re talking
and people who never look up from their cell phones
Who do you
consider the most swoon-worthy man in the literary world? How about on tv/in
the movies?
Allana- ...what kind of evil question is this... *huffs* Okay..
First and foremost I love me some Filo, from Kaye Thornbrugh's
"Flicker". I just want to jump in the book and trample him, okay?
Other favorites are Finn from The Daughters of the Sea Series by Kristen Day,
Patch from The Hush Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick...and more, than I won't
torment you by listing... I need help.
In the real world, again, I'm pathetic. I love me some Adam
Levine, Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Mads Mikkelsen... Hugh Dancy is my
current favorite stalking victim--er.. Eye candy of choice...at this time....
Melissa- This is hard! In
books, I’d say it’s a toss up between Dimitri Belikov from the Vampire Academy
series by Richelle Mead (just love me some Dimka), Laurie from Little Women by
Louisa May Alcott, Valek from the Study Series by Maria V Snyder...then we have
Will Herondale from Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare..oh how I adore him,
Ash from the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa (sigh), Patch from the Hush Hush
series by Becca Fitzpatrick, Wolf from
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, Rhett Butler from Gone With The
Wind, Tod from the Soul Screamers Series
by Rachel Vincent (I mean, come on, how amazing is he?).....and lastly (but
certainly not least) Jericho Barrons from the Fever Series by Karen Marie
Moning and there are TOO MANY wonderful book boys!! I might need a support
group of some sort...Ahem, onto tv/movies; Jamie Dornan as Graham/the Huntsman
on Once Upon a Time was absolutely delicious (let’s be honest, he’s amazing in
everything)

What are your
thoughts on book covers- in your opinion do they make or break a book?
Allana- Cover
"beauty" is a matter of opinion--what I like might not be something
you do, and vice versa. A story and its author
makes or breaks a book. I don't care how pretty the cover is, if the story is
lacking or the author is nasty, they're not going to go very far...
Melissa- Hmm..I’m sick of
looking at naked people...not what you were looking for? Ok, then. Well, I do
think that unfortunately far too many people buy based completely on the cover
and don’t bother even reading the blurb. So yes, in some cases the cover does
make or break a book. I, however, buy based completely on the blurb. I don’t
care about the cover.
What’s the last
song you listened to?
Allana- Oh the same song
I've been listening to on repeat for the last, like, 3 months... "Blue
Jeans" by Lana Del Rey. I haven't heard much else lately, I will admit.
Melissa- “Be My Forever”
by Christina Perri & Ed Sheeran
How do you come
up with character names? How do you come
up with novel titles?
Allana- *points down*
What the smart one said.
Melissa- The characters
eventually spill the beans about who they are, as for titles normally Lana and
I brainstorm and research together until something clicks into place.
Do you have any
advice for anyone that would like to be an author?
Allana- Make friends in
the community--honest ones, who can help you learn and grow and won't do you
wrong. Don't let anyone tell you no, that you can't--they're full of crap.
Believe in yourself and your writing--and if that's too hard, fake it until you
truly do. And most importantly...stop putting it off. Plant your butt down and
write.
Melissa- Keep on reading.
Believe in yourself. Learn how to function without sleep. Find a happy place
where you can write uninterrupted and hide it from the world. Don’t ever let
anyone tell you that you can’t succeed.
This or That-
*Paranormal or
Dystopian?
Allana- dystopian
Melissa- paranormal
*Winchesters or
Salvatores?
Allana- Winchesters any
day of the week
Melissa-Winchesters all
the way
*Morning or
Night?
Allana- NIGHT. I am 100%
a night owl.
Melissa- I am a night owl
for sure
*Vanilla or
Chocolate?
Allana- ...ehh...
Vanilla. I'll say vanilla.
Melissa- chocolate :)
*Summer or
Winter?
Allana- ...both! For
different reasons. lol
Melissa- neither, give me
autumn or spring, I don’t like the extreme temperatures.
