The Courtlight Series~~Sworn To Raise

Title- Sworn to Raise
Series- Courtlight Series #1
By- Terah Edun
Genre- Young Adult, Fantasy, Coming of Age

Blurb-
Seventeen-year-old Ciardis has grown up in poverty, a cleaner in a small vale on the outskirts of the empire. But beneath her empire’s seemingly idyllic surface lies a hidden secret. Whispers of an inept crown Prince are growing ever louder—intensified by the five year anniversary of the soulbond initiations.

Amidst scandalous whispers, Ciardis finds herself chosen to train for the Companion’s Guild. She leaves her home and sets off on a personal journey to become a Court Companion. A position she’d never thought possible for a lowly servant to obtain, she must prove that she has the skills to attract a Patron.

But she must master those skills quickly. If the legends are true, only Ciardis can harness the power to raise a Prince in an Imperial Court sworn to bring him down.

This sensational series debut melds intricate storylines with remarkable characters and unforgettable magic. Sworn To Raise is ideal for fans of Kristin Cashore, Michelle Sagara, and Maria Snyder.

~~Kj's Review~~
Ciardis works in the laundry, is an orphan with nothing much to call her own. Meeting a Companion, she then decides to attempt to become one, and sets off on a remarkable journey of self-discovery. With more powers than she knew she had, she must learn to control them to help keep the Prince and herself alive. With every passing day Ciardis learns more, but can she control her temper and non-stop jumping into situations in time to help save that which needs saving?
When I downloaded this book to read I had no idea of what I was going to find, the blurb sounded interesting but would I like it? I found a complete treasure of a book, a breathtaking story which held my attention from the word go and kept me a willing captive from beginning to end. A master of words, Terah Edun creates a world from which you will not want to come back from, and the characters seem as real as the person sitting next to you. I recommend this book highly to all lovers of fantasy, from young to old, is a book for anyone.
