This is a horror story that is reminiscent of
the Amityville Horror. It does however go its own way and is a dark story all
on its own. I followed through not connecting the dots for just awhile and it
wasn’t until the end that it all became clear to me. I have always found books
like this to be disturbing and really that is the very reason we like them
right?
Amity is indeed a living entity of a house
with wants and needs as if it were human. It gathers the occupants up and
wreaks its will on them. Most people didn’t understand the danger, but those
that did had little recourse against the evil. Usually the only thing left
behind was a damaged human and many ghosts. Will this last time be any
different?
I truly liked the book, it was satisfyingly
creepy and I must always read creepy. I recommend the book to horror fans. I
would have liked even more, but I am a greedy reader at best. Many thanks to
the author/publisher and NetGalley for making reading this a reality.
